Providing advocacy and education for people with developmental disabilities

Arc Buddies forms one-to-one friendships between a volunteer from the community and a person with a developmental disability. Volunteers are needed throughout the year.

Arc Buddies:
The Arc plans two optional events per month for the matches to attend. From bowling, game nights, bingo, potlucks, movie nights, sporting events, concerts in the park, to many other community events.

The Arc encourages the volunteer's family and friends to be involved in growing the relationship of the match!

Volunteers:
The goal of a volunteer in Arc Buddies is friendship with his/her buddy, while encouraging the emotional and social growth needed to develop future relationships.

Volunteers meet with their Arc Buddy at least twice a month and stay connected through phone calls and e-mail.

Individuals seeking to have a buddy:
Must be 12 years of age or older with a developmental disability and have the desire to meet new friends.
